A truss bridge refers to the construction of
a particular type of bridge. Truss bridges are made with connected
elements that form triangular units of support called trusses. Truss bridges are
the oldest type of modern bridges. Many types of truss bridge design dates
back hundreds of years. Truss bridges were most commonly built at the end
of the 1800's up to about 1930.
