can stand up to 20 feet tall and weight 3,500 pounds. They are known for their
extremely long neck, legs and horns. They have eyes on both sides of their
head, and a keen sense of smell and hearing. Giraffes inhabit the grasslands of
Africa, and love acacia trees. Adult giraffes are safe from
predators, but lions and other animals prey on their calves, which can take 460
days to birth. Giraffes live around 25 years. |
