Kentucky Derby. It is also home to Mammoth Cave National Park, which contains
the longest caves in the world. These caves, in the hillside of southern

in America. It is sometimes called The Run for the Roses, as the
winning horse is covered with a blanket of roses. It is also referred to
as The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports. The Kentucky Derby has been run each
year since 1875, regardless of world events. The Kentucky Derby is a race for
3-year-old thoroughbred horses. The horses run 10 furlongs, or 1 1/4 miles.
The record for the fastest time is held by Secretariat. He ran the course in one
minute and 59 seconds.
