Did you know ...

Chimney Rock is a rock formation found in western Nebraska.  Chimney Rock rises almost 300 feet tall in the Platte River Valley.  Chimney Rock holds a special place in history of the western migration.  As the pioneers traveled over the plains of the Oregon trail, the first hint that they were approaching the Rocky Mountains was the sight of this rocky bluff.  Chimney Rock served as a landmark for those traveling the Oregon Trail, the Mormon Trail, and the California Trail.  Chimney Rock is now a National Historic site.
