The Oregon Coast
Oregon is on the West Coast of the United States. The scenery in Oregon ranges from rocky beaches to
lush forests. There is a lot of water in Oregon. On the west side of the state there are 362 miles of
Pacific coastline. The Columbia River runs along the northern border, and the Snake River
forms the eastern border of the state. At least 50 mountain ranges run through Oregon.
Mt. Hood reaches 11,249 feet high. Crater Lake, in southern Oregon, is the deepest lake in the United
States. The largest city in Oregon is Portland, and the capital is Salem.

Crater lake is a lake in the southern
part of Oregon. It is located in Crater Lake National Park, which is the only
National Park in the state of Oregon. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United
States. It is 1,949 feet deep. Crater Lake formed in the remains of an ancient volcano.
There are no rivers flowing in or out of it. Evaporated water is replaced by
rain and snowfall.
